“I’ve never been able to settle on just one medium. Some ideas want to become a mug, others a six-foot wolf built from shipping pallets. Sometimes they’re paintings, installations, or sculptures made from whatever I can find. Following that curiosity has become the thread that ties my work together.”

Kia Neill is a multidisciplinary artist whose work moves between ceramics, sculpture, painting, photography, drawing, installation, and reclaimed materials. Whether creating functional pottery, immersive public art, or large-scale sculpture, her work is driven by curiosity, play, and a love of transforming ordinary materials into unexpected experiences.

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Neill received her MFA from the University of California San Diego and has taught art for more than twenty years. She currently lives and works in the mountains of Colorado, where she is the Ceramic Studio Head Technician and an instructor for Breckenridge Creative Arts, and also teaches for Think 360 Arts.

Her public commissions include projects for Meow Wolf Denver’s Convergence Station, the Town of Breckenridge—including the life-size wolf sculptures The Pack—the Town of Silverthorne, the Town of Alma, the Aspen Police Department, the Children’s Museum of Denver Mariposa Campus, Southwest Airlines at Houston Hobby Airport, and the City of Houston.

Across every medium, Neill’s work invites people to slow down, look closer, and rediscover a sense of wonder.
